In the 2021 edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32, URA FC will host the Ankole Lions at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje this Tuesday 6/4/2021.

This will be a two-legged tie as the Tax collectors will also have to travel to Mbarara (Kakyeka Stadium) for the return leg on Friday. The knockout series will be interesting to watch.

From a URA FC perspective, this game comes at the right time as we quest a return back to winning ways. The previous week didn’t go exactly as planned for Sam Simbwa’s side and any form of restitution would be nice.

Mbowa Patrick returns to th sqaud

Mbarara City themselves come into this game off the back of an impressive 2-1 win against Wakiso Giants away from home. There first win in five and will be looking to build on this.

At this stage in the competition last season, the tax collectors had a magnificent showing against Nyamityobora FC in a game played on 12/02/2020. The fulltime scoreline was 8-3.

URA FC went into half-time with a 6-2 lead thanks to a Daniel Opolot Isiagi hattrick before Saidi Kyeyune and Cromwell Rwothomio scored two goals in the second half to climax a perfect performance.

Mukwala Steven scored his first goal for URA FC against Mbarara City

The Tax collectors will be hoping for more of the same especially considering our recent 3-1 defeat at the hands of Express FC at Wankulukuku Stadium.

This and much more were highlighted by Sam Ssimbwa while talking to our media team.

“Any sort of Silverware will be welcome this season. The team has been progressing since i took charge and we are looking to continue on this path.”

The excitement about this being a two-legged affair will go along way in making it more fascinating. Mbarara City will surely give us a game to remember.
