After two consecutive away league games without a win, URA FC will hope for a return to winning ways when they host the Ankole Lions at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje this Tuesday 27/4/2021.

This will be just the sixth league meeting between both sides since the opponents made their league debut. In the five encounters, neither side has managed to register a win, making this fixture more than fascinating.

Already this season, the two sides have been involved in a (1-1) draw in the first league encounter but the Tax collectors will be the most confident coming into the tie as they recently ejected Mbarara City out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

From a URA FC perspective, this game comes at the right time as we quest a return back to winning ways. The previous week didn’t go exactly as planned for Sam Simbwa’s side and any form of restitution would be welcome.

Mbarara City themselves come into this game off the back of an impressive 2-1 home victory against SC Villa in a game-best remembered for their resilience. They will be hoping for the same kind of luck at the Arena of Visions.

URA FC on the other hand will be motivated reading from their performance in the Uganda Cup against the same opponent. Breaking the jinx and registering a first league win against the Ankole Lions will come in handy and the boys should be prepared.

Mutyaba Julius is back to squad after sustaining an injury against BUL.

This and much more was echoed by Sam as he spoke to our media team.

“Mbarara City has never been a team known for giving away points to opponents. Their concentration levels are often high and the boys and the technical team know this. We know we have to give it our best to win.”

Speaking about our recent dip in form. He had this to say:

“Of course it’s never pleasant when results don’t come your way but as a manager, my work is to motivate my team and have them maintain the belief. I think the boys have good character.”

Sam Ssimbwa

URA FC will maintain the top spot with a victory against Mbarara City. A win will further take us 4 points clear ahead of the second-placed team.

Mukwala Steven will still be unavailable for selection through injury.
