PREVIEW: EXPRESS V URA

Patrick Fred Ochieng

Head of Public Relations, Media and Communications at URA Football Club.

In our first (Away) game of the second round, URA FC will lock horns with Express FC in what has been dubbed as the big game of matchday 16.
The game will be played at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku this Saturday 3/4/2021. URA FC will be hoping for a better result this time round considering that the reverse home fixture didn’t exactly go according to plan.

The tax collectors came off short in that particular outing, as “Mukwano g’wabangi” condemned them to their first and only defeat of the 2020/2021 SUPL season in a rather dull and less entertaining fair.

Kagimu battlig for the ball i the first leg.

The defeat happened back in February and one could say it was indeed a blessing in disguise because the tax collectors have since managed to arrest some consistency and put together a 9 game unbeaten run. They have won 8 and drawn only once against Wakiso Giants.

This well-put-together run has seen us win seven games in a row and convincingly climb at the summit of the table. That and much more have managed to keep our fans ecstatic.

The players and the coaching staff will be looking to capitalize on this adrenaline built in their approach to this big tie. The preparations have all been done in full awareness of the tough task ahead at Wankulukuku stadium.

This has been highlighted by the gaffer himself during his pre-match press conference:

“Express has shown us and the rest of the competitors how good a team they are. They play solid and are hard to break down. Our front players have their work cutout for them.”

He would continue to say: “We also can’t disguise the fact that they are the only team to beat us this season. The game will be tough and our players equally need to toughen.”

The team goes into this game with a rejuvenated belief and thirst for revenge. This will make the tie one to cherish from a URA FC perspective.

Mukwala Steven is still the Leagues top scorer.
