URA FC won their third preseason fixture on Saturday, beating Koboko Rising Stars by 1-0 in West Nile. Yes, it was only a friendly, but the Tax collectors were the better side by a larger margin than the scoreline might suggest. The Tax collectors camped out in their opponents’ half for long periods of time and never allowed the third division team to settle into an attacking rhythm. The tax collectors missed eight player currently camped with the National Team preparing for CHAN qualifier match against Tanzania on 28th August 2022 while other were missing due to injury and the ongoing FUFA DRUM competitions.

The entire side looked fit and positive, but from a vantage point, Kalega Hassan and Patrick Mbowa were the star men for Tax collectors . Kalega Hassan bossed the midfield, sending Ibrahim Dada on his way with a well-weighted through ball. Patrick Mbowa gobbled up everything that came his way and looked comfortable in defence, demonstrating his impressive passing range.

Koboko Rising Stars FC had a couple of chances on goal that they blasted wide. The URA FC coaching team commended Koboko Rising Stars FC for having excellent team work and discipline. The fans in Koboko were electric often cheering their teams for a greater part of the evening.
