In one of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, 2020/2021 season games, URA FC outclassed the garbage collectors to register just their second consecutive away league game and the third consecutive win.

This they had to do from behind following an early headed strike from KCCA’s Brian Aheebwa in the 27th minute before two quick-fire goals in the 32nd and 36th minute from Benjamin Nyakoojo and team skipper Shafik Kagimu respectively.

Nyakoojo Benjamin’s header in the 32nd minute leveled matters.

“The result was simply a climax to the impressive work the boys have been doing since the start of the season. We had to wait for our first win against SC Villa at home and we have never looked back since. The boys will surely enjoy this.”

These were the words of an ecstatic Sam Ssimbwa who was happy to name an almost same squad from one that won the game away to BUL FC on Tuesday. Only Arafat Galiwango replaced Ibrahim Dada who started on the bench.

Kagimu Shafik scored his first goal of the season to hand us to lead.

This win marks a record ninth win against the opponents in our last 21 meetings in the league and Sam Simbwa and company can’t be any happier.

To provide perspective however, the hosts did dominate the game in the opening 28 minutes and forced the issue. So much so that our custodian was called upon oftentimes.

Even with the hosts leading, the boys were never out of the game and fought tooth and nail to deliver the holy grail. Deliver-it-they-did without any doubts at all whatsoever. All the action was in the first stanza.

Sseruyidde Moses came on to replace Galiwango Arafat in the 23rd minute and put up a shift.

The second was more or less about the maintenance of our lead and accommodation of the opponent. The defensive partnership of Mbowa Paul Patrick and Benjamin Nyakoojo who would later win the man-of-the-match award was so alert.

Most notably however has to be the resilience we showed yet again to come back from behind and win the game. It goes without mentioning that the midfield did a lot of impressive work in the middle of the park to keep the hosts at bay.

With the win, we now have 11points from five league games as we await our home game against Wakiso Giants next year on 20th February.
