Ojera Joackiam is relishing the next URA FC’s schedule, with Tooro United FC and KCCA FC our remaining two opponents in September.
Speaking after a 0-0 draw with Kyetume FC at Mandela National Stadium, the forward reflected on the tax collectors’ good first game of the season but stated that the squad should stay grounded.
“Football’s football, it can change very quickly. I know that, I’ve experienced that many times,” Ojera declared.
“One moment you can be on a high, the next you can be low. It’s a cliché, but we’re keeping our feet on the ground, taking one game at a time.”
Consistency is key in any sport and it’s no different here. We’re putting a run together, we need to keep momentum going.
“We’re looking forward to Tooro United this week and then KCCA FC on 18th. These are tough games but these are the games you want to play in, the games you want to be available for.”
The draw against Kyetume United became our first home draw this season, with the tax collectors picking up 4 out of a possible 9 StarTimes Uganda Premier League points in the opening three games. Having lost to Wakiso Giants and cruised over Maroons FC in the opening game of the season.
Ojera also recognized the psychological importance of URA FC’s result in the last two games.
“They were not the best results for us, as we knew we could cement ourselves into the top position, but that’s football,” Ojera said.
“We’re working on every position, all over the pitch and we’re getting better. We can still improve and we will do. That we know”
